I received a B.S. and M.S. in
Electrical Engineering, and a B.A. in
Mathematics from the University of Tennessee. I then went to
Caltech, where I received my
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering,
doing research on parameter-varying control systems.
After graduation, I joined
the Microsoft
graphics research group where I worked on motion capture and
controllable human animation. I had a postdoctoral
fellowship in the
Animation Lab at the Georgia
Institute of Technology, before coming to the
Computer Science
department at Vanderbilt.
