Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Interface: The purpose of this project is to redesign the existing user interface for a commercial UAV. The interface must able to permit three UAVs to fly simultaneously, while also providing the operator with easy access to a map of the domain. The client for this project is: Not disclosed.
Interface for Teams of Heterogeneous Unmanned Vehicles: This project will generate an interface design capable of enabling an unmanned vehicle (UV) specialist to supervise simultaneously heterogeneous teams of ground and aerial vehicles. The client for this project is: Dr. Julie A. Adams, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, Vanderbilt University.
Exploring Large Virtual Environments using a Head-Mounted Display: The goal of this project is to combine strategies for exploring virtual environments on foot by combining strategies from two existing strategies: the scaled translation gain method with one or more resetting modalities into one interface. The resulting interface will allow people to seamlessly explore large virtual environments on foot while wearing a head-mounted display. The client for this project is: Dr. Robert Bodenheimer, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, Vanderbilt University.
Visualization of Behavioral Data for Teachers when Evaluating Metacognitive Abilities: The project is directly related to augmenting the capabilities provided by the Teachable Agents in the Betty's Brain project. The resulting interface will visualize the behavioral data collected during the use of Betty's Brain by school children. The interface will be tailored for use by the classroom teachers and will facilitate the the comparison of performance and behavioral data fro each student across multiple sessions and for an entire class. The client for this project is: Dr. Gautam Biswas, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, Vanderbilt University.
WizWeb: The purpose of this project is to develop the user interface for a new Internet version of WizOrder called WizWeb. WizOrder is a tool that allows medical personnel to enter inpatient orders; provides medical decision support including access to prescription interactions, medical records, test results, etc. The client for this project is: Dr. Russ Waitman, Biomedical Informatics Department, Vanderbilt University.
Ventilator Tool: This project seeks to develop a new interface for computerized provider order entry for ventilators. The order entry tool must support setting the initial ventilator settings, schedule changes, and order changes. The tool also seeks to provide decision support that is unavailable with the existing system. The client for this project is: Dr. Russ Waitman, Biomedical Informatics Department, Vanderbilt University.
Emergency Department Patient Discharge Tool: This project will develop a potential interface for a new emergency department patient discharge tool. The interface must provide the ability to provide patients with discharge instructions, prescriptions, follow-up care instructions, and excuse slips. An existing system has been in use, but it is a proprietary system that does not integrate with other existing emergency department systems. The client for this project is: Dr. Dominik Aronsky, Biomedical Informatics Department, Vanderbilt University.
