Hydroxyl Tagging Velocimetry (HTV)

Click picture to display full image.
Instantaneous HTV image. The image is taken in a Mach=2 flow over a caviry. The displacement of the cross, created by two write beams and revealed by LIF, over a given time delay produces the velocity vectors.
Combustion Research
Nitrogen diluted hydrogen vs. air tubular non-premixed flame at stretch rate K=105 1/s in the VU tubular burner. Nitrogen diluted methane vs. air flame with oscillatory stretch (~10 Hz) in the VU counterflow burner. An Nd:YAG laser is used to measure species concentrations as well as temperature in flames.
